I purchased a car here in June with a Pennsylvania inspection sticker on the front. I am from West Virginia and explained to them I would have to take it back there before I move but I had plans to move to Pittsburgh and the car I was driving would not pass emissions and cleared that it would cover everything, they said yes. 30 minutes after driving it off the lot the check engine light came on. I called, and they said the guy who details them ‘gets the engine too wet’ but not to worry, it shouldn’t be an issue. A few days later my car stalled out and it had to have its spark plugs changed completely. Then, in order for it to get WV inspected it needed completely new shocks. I feel like shocks and spark plugs are an essential part of a PA inspection but I digress. My check engine light still never went off. Getting closer to moving to PA I got it checked 3-4 more times, getting more and more work done to try and fix the check engine issue because mechanics literally could not figure out why it would just not turn off. The week of my inspection I got a knock code and they pretty much told me to trade or junk it. I had, had the car for three months and the engine needed replaced after spending nearly 3,000 to just get it up to the inspection standard it said it had when I bought it. I know the cars are cheap but in my opinion I would go absolutely anywhere else. This has genuinely traumatized me and I am now having to purchase a new vehicle after sinking nearly 6,000 of my own money for no reason. I purchased the car for 3,000. It had the shocks replaced, the crank shaft, the spark plugs and coil packs, the purge valve, both headlight bulbs burnt out in the same day, and the alignment was so bad that both tires in the front were worn. And the engine needs replaced. In three months. On a car that had an inspection sticker on it.

I bought a vehicle from these guys in August. It was a 2009 Subaru Impreza with 63,000 miles the vehicle was listed for 6000. I showed up an hour after it posted had them put the vehicle on the lift right away. I pointed out several issues with the vehicle being a licensed state inspector. I questioned the facility about why the August 25 stickers were just placed on the vehicle if there are so many pre-existing failures, the vehicle was sold to me with a kinked exhaust completely blown out suspension as well as a rear sway bar and sway bar links completely missing from the vehicle after putting nearly $1000 in parts and my own personal labor into this vehicle. I am now facing an issue with the transmission involving the center differential. i’m probably going to have to buy a whole Nother transmission because they are one unit and this is only three months after purchasing a Pennsylvania state inspected vehicle from this dealership with all of the suspension parts damaged as they are I am convinced that the mileage on this vehicle is not correct and may have been altered, but I do not have the means to examine that at this time I reached out to the salesman Mike that sold me the car and was ignored on this issue they did however, help me out with several other broken components on the vehicle that should not have passed inspection

I usually take care of my own car repairs, but every once in a while I run into a job I don't feel like doing. That's when I bring it to Used Cars in PGH. They've been very transparent about the work, the costs, and the timeframe. It's a great neighborhood shop!

There’s better options nearby with newer cars with a lot less mileages on them and I mean a lot…. and around the same price too. and they wont help you out when you walk in with $4300 cash for a $4500 for example a down payment until my next check…nope wouldn’t do.. highly unprofessional specially if u look up KBB prices.

I bought a car here in Oct. 2023. Great experience. The car needed a small repair a week later (pre-existing issue) and they were able to fix it. Reasonable prices too.

The car we wanted was sold right away. The salesman was friendly and told us to call again sometime as they are always getting cars in the $3000 price range. They don' t finance there.
