I have been taking in-person guitar lessons with Chris for two months now and I have found him to be a very knowledgeable, helpful and, perhaps most importantly for me, a very patient teacher.

Being a middle-aged guy with no musical background I was intimidated by the guitar at first, but Chris has been great at building the complexity of the lessons in a gradual, manageable way and while I still have much to learn, I can see real progress already.

Chris has helped make learning to play the guitar both fun and satisfying and I would recommend him to anyone.

We've been really pleased with Chris' guitar instruction. He has a clear mastery of both the instrument and music theory, and it's helpful that he can play along or step in to demonstrate when needed. He is equally gifted at teaching and does not struggle to meet a student where they are at in their own musical journey. Chris fosters a very healthy learning environment, where progress is praised, and mistakes are corrected appropriately but without criticism. This creates a friendly dynamic in the lesson, where one doesn't feel anxious or self conscious about making mistakes along the way. Overall very pleased and would recommend.

Chris is a very dedicated teacher. He's the intentional guy "making a career" out of teaching people how to play, not just as a side hustle. Even his field of study is about how to do just that! He is very flexible re the direction of instruction -- I have asked him to pursue different things at different times and he is always willing to pivot and give me what I need at the time. Show-up without a request, or with something specific you need to learn, you're in good hands. Plus, he figures-out songs faster than anyone I've seen, it's amazing.
