Loved the visit we have, yes you have to bring your own towels and things but knowing this upfront made it easy. Cabin 15 was rustic but overall clean and comfortable. Loved the water and how much fun everybody had all day swimming’s. I will want to come back when there is more water but it was all very clean and people we interacted with where friendly

Man this place is awesome I loved the entire stay we had 2.5 days. I had a lot of fun. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I wish I could have stayed another day. I stayed in cabin #38 although it was more of an apartment lol It was very comfortable. The swimming area is incredible, took some fantastic pictures, and spent nice quality time creating memories with family.

Horrible hospitality. Horrible. You have to bring your own sheets and towels. Not even a hand towel. Only a bath mat that was completely necessary because of the open sided shower with a short curtain. I was surprised they even had coffee filters. Even the sponge in the kitchen was cut in half. So cheap and makes it harder to clean the dishes.
Neighbors 200ft away blasting their music and bass until 7am. I slept 3 hours. Went to talk to the front office around 6pm. Hours are until 9pm during busy season, but the office was closed. It's almost midnight and I'm getting a migraine from the intrusive, never ending bass. No answer from front office or after hours number. Came here to relax and now I cant wait to go home for some peace. This place is awful. There are plenty of other better places to spend your money and enjoy the river.

If you're looking to get away and be in the country, sort of, I only say that because I live in the sticks. Five miles one way on a dirt road, sticks. So, having a camp store across the street is like living in a metropolis for me. It's a basic camp store, but anyone who's a forward thinker and is used to going out camping in the woods. This is a piece of cake. If by some chance you need more than they have. There's a store a mile down the road with a few more things to choose from. If they dont have what you need, there's Leakey. It's about 18 miles north, and they have a bunch of shops to browse. Or if you head south on 127 22 miles is Sabinal. There they have fast food and pretty much anything you need. Then there's the Frio river. Neal's has private property river access, and a nice place to sit in the river. I do have to say that Neal's is a great get-a-way, for those who like to glamp, lol. Hey, don't get mad at me. I come here for the same reason, lol.

My family has been coming to Neal’s every single year for the past 15 years. I’ve never been able to make it out, but as it was my cousin’s 25th birthday this weekend, I decided to make the drive from Dallas to celebrate. Now let me add, as they’ve come every year for 15 years, they informed me I would have to purchase a day pass at the front, which I was more than happy to. I get to the front and was told they decided they are not going to be selling day passes this year for 4th of July weekend as they are “over capacity” which I then ask if they have this written on their website, or told their guests of this new rule, she replies “no”. So how exactly do you plan to change something that has never been implemented before, nor communicated to the guest, until someone gets there? I drove 5 hours to be denied entry due to “over capacity”. My cousin ends up meeting me in the front and somehow they were able to allow her to purchase another campsite in which I was now allowed entry after paying 2x the amount of a day pass. But I thought the river was “over capacity”? The whole exchange was handled very unprofessionally and I hope in the future they decide to make some sort of announcement if/when they are denying entry for day passes. My family, who camped there for 3 nights, and have been at this point 15 years loyal patrons to Neal’s, also made notice that the service they received was subpar and many employees were extremely rude. There was a total of about maybe 16-18 people in our camp (multiple campsites) and all of us will not be returning.
