TLDR: The reason for my 2 star review is simple: they don't allow out-of-pocket payment, they will only work with insurance companies.

I am unfortunate to have an insurance (chosen by my husband's employer) that will only pay for services if I go to very specific facilities for care... these facilities are few and far between. I knew this when I called and so I warned Allen that I was prepared to pay out-of-pocket, up front, using ESA funds, because most likely my insurance would not pay for their services.

If you are not familiar with ESA, it is an account set up by the department of education for educational services for students with disabilities. I have a debit card connected to this account that works just like a mastercard. There is not wait period, and there is no approval process. If I swipe my card and the transaction goes through, the funds are withdrawn from my account immediately and deposited into that business's account.

I explained all of this to Allen. Later that day, I got a call from him saying that they do not accept ESA because they do not let people pay out-of-pocket for services (except for the copay) and that they only work with insurances. Furthermore, Allen said that it was the billing department that made this policy/decision, but they wouldn't even speak to me just to answer my questions. This is a private business, I'm guessing legally they can do what they want. But in my opinion it is still very un-American, and unprofessional not to let potential customers pay out-of-pocket. I can't understand how this would serve them well as a business, and I believe it sets a bad precedent. When private businesses stop accepting payment from private citizens, and will only accept payment from large corporations like insurance companies, it forces private citizens to work with large corporations to get the services they need. If every business operated this way the US dollar would lose it's value and the economy would collapse. I am just baffled and disappointed.

I must say I have only great things to say about BridgeCare ABA therapy. Ashley was really not doing well at home or in school. She was acting out and wasn’t getting along with her siblings. I owe my life to BridgeCare ABA, or at least my sanity. My 9 year old daughter Jasmine is the light of my life, she gives meaning and purpose to my very existence. As a single mom I am solely responsible for her safety and care, therefore it was an upheaval, when five years ago she was diagnosed with ASD, I was lost, confused, and alone. Jaz's PCP referred us to an (unnamed) ABA Therapy provider, who was just awful, the Provider was unorganized and unprofessional, schedules were wrong, payments were just a mess, however most of all the therapists were rude and downright condescending, Jaz hated her sessions, and refused to go. From there began a long and arduous 4 year journey from therapist to therapist, from one provider to another, to make a long story short my life was a blur and a mess, Jasmine's condition was out of control/
about 4 months ago a friend referred me to BridgeCare ABA Therapy, and my life changed, the organization at large is smooth and professional and just a pleasure to deal with, Marc and the entire team are consummate professionals who work alongside you for the betterment of your child. and the therapist they sent is a blessing from heaven, Jaz loves going for sessions and has a powerful relationship with her therapist, most of all her condition has taken a turn for the better,. I can live, she can live, and it's all thanks to BridgCare ABA Therapy

Awesome place. They are extremely attentive to all of Paula’s needs. We have seen great improvement in all areas and she even started saying full sentences!!
The therapists are amazing and if there is ever an issue it is resolved quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend for ABA therapy.
