MASSIVE ROACH INFESTATION AND NO RETURNED SECURITY DEPOSIT!!
I lived at 527 W 3rd St. Apt 210 for a year, the infestation started getting bad about 6 months in. We did the sprays and the exits, I kept it as clean as possible which also meant limiting food available for me - I'm vegan and like fresh produce but you can't leave fruit or potatoes or onions or ANYTHING out in that place if you want to eat it. I would find them in and near my animals' food bowls. I even found them in my damn $200 coffee maker!! It got so bad I started sleeping everywhere BUT there including miles away at friends' places or even in my car. Yes - I slept in my car rather than sleep in that uninhabitable overpriced storage unit. I chose to be unhoused while searching for a new place and spent 2.5 months in airbnbs which resulted in my car getting broken into and even more financial distress, but at least I don't have the damn bugs anymore. I have 2 elderly animals as well, constantly worrying about their health and safety while managing my own severe clinical anxiety was a nightmare. I've heard from other tenants that since I left it has still only gotten worse. How are they getting in? There are massive holes on the side of the building, they are inside the walls just thriving, you'll find them in the laundry room - I even found one IN MY DRYER and had to spend more money re-washing clothing. Imagine opening your dryer and seeing a roach Disgusting. I left in the beginning of October 2023 after refusing to pay a rental increase for more bugs and problems (yes, they wanted MORE RENT... $100 more!). It is almost February 2024 and I've not received my security deposit yet. I've sent 3 emails and asked for it, every time I was told they thought it was handled and will "check on it". Nobody ever does. There's also a massive problem with the railing in the back of the building. It is so broken and rusting, my fear is that someone will get impaled on it. One slip on that back step, and this management company will be responsible for murder. I wish I read reviews on this place before renting. I was desperate and needed safety and stability. I was told that's what I was finally getting after risking my life to escape domestic violence and doing everything in my power to land on my feet. Now I've lost thousands of dollars in furniture, electronics and equipment... plus the NUMEROUS full blown anxiety attacks living in that mess caused... well in the class action lawsuit range... but can't even get my damn security deposit... you'd think they'd try to spare themselves at least, but truly this is how you know they don't give a damn and will take whoever's money they can get while you live in squalor. For the sake of everything from your money to your mental health... don't. It looks too good to be true BECAUSE IT IS. Expect the rent to continue going up massively also - word on the street is many of the units are now airbnbs because gluttonous companies like this one have figured out they can charge more and have less accountability. It only has to look less infested for a short period of time with short term rentals. I saw so many new faces in a year, I thought the turnover was just that high... no no... the long term tenants will tell you the real scoop - many of whom are also trying to leave because nobody wants to live with roaches.
UPDATE 8/27/24: STILL NO SECURITY DEPOSIT even though I have emails from Circle Capital stating it was being sent. I am filing in small claims court if my security deposit is not given to me within the next week. I will come pick it up in person if I have to, but this is it... I'm not going to keep asking in circles. I can't get back anything I lost from the negligence of this place. I want my money and whatever else I can file for - like all the equipment I had to replace for my business because it was infested. The BARE MINIMUM LEAST Circle Capital could have done was actually follow through with returning my security deposit. I'm over all these greedy corporate slumlords...

I was a previous tenant of Circle Capital, for 5 years before I moved out of state for college. I recently moved back to Southern California and immediately got in touch with their office and they were AMAZING! Clear and quick communication, excellent response time, and made my move in process extremely smooth. Not to mention the renovations at 527 W 3rd st, are beautiful! Thank you Nic, Jerold, Frida, Ulysses, and Wade for all of your effort to making my move from out of state seamless. Would recommend 10/10 to my family and friends!

I live in one of their Ohio properties and it's been a great experience so far! The leasing agent Nic is so kind and loves animals, even going so far as to help me find homes and care for the little unhoused kitties around the property. Jerold has worked with me on payment options to make sure I can pay my rent on time in an accessible way, and their maintenance request response rate is the fastest I've EVER had in any place I've lived. I've put in requests at 3:30 am and Neri the friendly handyman is there by 7:30 am to help fix the problem. I'm really thankful to have found people I can trust.

TRASH TRASH TRASH AVOID AT AL COST. I’ve been waiting till I moved out to write this, horrible, falling apart properties. The worst of the worst, Bad communication, maintenance never does anything. Rude, worst year of my life. Do NOT go with them or any of their properties. Hope you guys are reading this! You suck. <3 Had to give at least one star but would give you negative.

This is my favorite place I’ve lived! Located at the building on Cedar. I’ve had a great experience with Circle Capitol. Brenda has gone above and beyond and I’m happy to have her as our leasing agent. I’m not sure why there are bad reviews but I’ve got no complaints. I contact maintenance for the first time today and they arrived on the same day and fixed the issue we were having. Neighbors are awesome and my boyfriend and I are happy here!

This company rents out apartments without telling potential residents that the building is infested with roaches. They then ignore residents when a request for pest control is submitted. There is also a high turnover rate for the company's employees, so the next person you talk to will have no idea of what your problem with the unit was. The halls reek of animal urine.

Not sure about the other properties, but I live at The Gatsby and its not worth the expensive rent. I live on the first floor, so if you are on one of the other floors it might be better. I was told this is a quiet place to live, but there's constant loud music and you can hear every person that walks in and out of the apartment. The location is also very loud. A drunk or homeless person is always walking by yelling at the top of there lungs at 2am. I havent had a good nights sleep since I moved here. I've also seen plentyof "peeping toms" at my window. I can't even open the window without having someone look in. One of the upper floors might be better.

The GATSBY_ This apartment complex is so loud due to it being built in 1917 they haven't updated the windows or doors and i have has some of the worst sleep ever you can see threw the windows and doors also allowing so much ac to leave and due to Vons being around the corner you can hear bums and drunk idiots yelling to god in the middle of the night also is next to some shady motels. I tried changing my lease to monthly and was willing to pay the extra money but they wont work with me showing the are in dire need of money. DONT RENT HERE they dont care about you.
